What PickWise will and will not claim

Some products may be visible in Market Watch while not being PickWise recommendations. Visibility is market information. A recommendation is a separate decision.

Evidence sources

PickWise records where a fact came from. A marketplace listing, an official document, and an independent check are not treated as the same kind of support.

Official and independent evidence

An official source is the provider or the company behind the offer. An independent source is outside that relationship. If we have not done the independent check, the page says so.

Freshness

Prices and listings are observations from a point in time. A recent observation can be shown as current. An older one is labeled as something that may have changed, or as no longer current.

Conflicts

When sources disagree, PickWise does not silently pick the flattering version. The conflict stays a reason to keep verifying instead of a reason to recommend.

Insufficient evidence

Still being verified means the item can appear in Market Watch when the listing itself is safe to show. It is not labeled as a PickWise recommendation.

High-risk review

Some products need a person to review the risk before anyone should treat them as a suggestion. Those products are not public Picks.

Hard blocks

A hard block keeps a product off the public recommendation list. PickWise does not soften that block to fill a page.
